Sony and Honda team up to officially launch their new electric car Afeela 1. The price of the electric car was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Notably, Sony introduced their first EV in 2020. After forming a joint venture with Honda in 2023, the car was named Afila. It is known that the development of Sony Afilar has been going on for the past five years.

Sony Afila 1 EV has been launched in two variants. The Afila 1 Origin trim has been priced at $89,900. In Indian currency that is around Rs 77 lakhs. On the other hand, the Afila 1 Signature model is priced at $1,02,900. Which is about 88 lakhs in Rs. The car will initially be available to California residents. Delivery from 2026. There is no word on when it will be launched in other countries or India.
Sony Afeela 1 EV Battery, Range, Features
The Sony Afila comes in a dual-motor setup and all-wheel-drive configuration. Both motors produce 241 hp of power. According to the United States EPA, the vehicle will have a 91 kilowatt hour (kWh) battery pack and offer 482 miles of range. The car will support 150 kW DC charging.
Afila can also be called a four-wheeled smartphone. Because there are huge screens and lots of technology inside the car. While the prototype model has a PS5 controller, its presence on the final model is not confirmed. Special features include immersive 3D maps, automatic power doors, active noise cancellation system, 5G connectivity, level two ADAS tech, AI powered personal assistance, etc.
