Redmi Note 9 is teased by Xiaomi through the Redmi India Twitter handle and also by MD of Xiaomi India Manu Kumar Jain on his Instagram. The smartphone was unveiled earlier globally at the end of April. The company hasn’t stated that it is Redmi Note 9 but the post makes it pretty clear.

The image in the tweet by Redmi India clearly shows a ‘championship belt’ with a “9” in the middle with “Redmi” and “Note” on either side. The belt also shows a square camera module in the same orientation and shape as seen on the Redmi Note 9. The company hasn’t shared an exact date for the India launch of the smartphone.

Redmi Note 9 features a 6.53 inches IPS LCD Display with a resolution of 1080 X 2340 pixels ( Full HD+ ) and also the phone has the protection of Gorilla Glass 5. This is the first smartphone to power the MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core processor. The Device has a polycarbonate build with glossy finish at the back.

Redmi Note 9 hosts a Quad Camera setup at the back includes a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is also a 13-megapixel punch-hole front camera for selfies. The smartphone is equipped with a 5020mah monster battery with 18W fast charging support. The rear fingerprint sensor sits right below the quad-camera unit. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC (select markets), infrared (IR) blaster, GPS, A-GPS, and more.
Redmi Note 9 Price and Availability
The Smartphone is launched globally in April in two storage variants
- 3GB/64GB costs $199 (around Rs. 15,100)
- 4GB/128GB costs $249 (around Rs. 18,900)
According to rumors, the base variant of 3GB + 64GB will launch in Rs, 12,999 in India. There are three color options Forest Green, Polar White, and Midnight Grey. Xiaomi India has not made any announcements about the launch in India yet but this tweet tips the smartphone will launch soon either in the last week of July or the 1st week of August.
