Simple Energy, a newcomer in the country’s electric two-wheeler world, has announced the launch of two new electric scooters. In terms of price, the new model will be cheaper than the two newly launched Simple One flagship scooters. They will be introduced in the market in the upcoming quarter i.e. July to September. Note that the market price of Simple One has gone from Tk 1.45 lakh to Tk 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the different colors.
Simple Energy will launch a pair of electric scooters
Simple Energy’s two electric scooters to be launched before the Puja season are estimated to be priced at Rs 1 lakh or a little more. The lower price will also result in lower range due to lower capacity batteries. Again, the feature list may also be cut to keep the price within reach. So far, there is no information about whether there will be any changes in the design of the models. TVS iQube, Ather 450X and Ola S1 Air will compete with them after the launch.
Simple One: Specifications and Features
Simple Energy’s first Model One comes with an 8.5kW electric motor that produces 72Nm of torque. Electric motors and controllers comply with IP67 regulations. That is, dust and water will work properly. The maximum speed of the scooter is 105 km/h. It takes 2.77 seconds to accelerate from 0-40 km/h. Users will get four riding modes namely Eco, Ride, Dash and Sonic.
The company claims that the Simple One will provide a range of 212 km (tested) on a full charge. And then the battery will still have 6 percent charge left. Fast charger will charge from 0-80% at 1.5 km/min. Again, it will take 5 hours and 54 minutes to charge with a 5kWh charger at home. Its portable battery will take 2 hours and 7 minutes to charge, while the fixed battery will take 3 hours and 47 minutes.
Simple One’s special features include park assist, Bluetooth, 4G connectivity, OTA updates, onboard navigation, document storage, mobile apps, etc. Its 7-inch instrument cluster will be based on Android operating system. It is also IP67 rated.
