Segway eMoped C80 has been launched with Smart seat Detection and Auto-lock mode. Earlier, The company also launched an innovative hoverboard and self-balancing e-scooter. Segway eMoped C80 is funded by Indigogo and raised more than $150,000 (around Rs.1,10,09,625) in 12 hours post-launch and has got over $274,000 (around Rs.2,01,12,576) from backers in two days.

The Segway eMoped can be turned on via the AirLock system which can be connected by the Segway-Ninebot app. Users only need to simply swipe on the NFC tag to lock and unlock the vehicle.

The eMoped assistant automatically locks itself within only 3 seconds after the user left it. However, The lock timer can be customized according to user preferences with the Segway-Ninebot app. The eMoped stays locked in case of improper seating or no movement to make sure the biker’s safety.



It has a front disc and rear drum brakes and support of the Auto Cruise feature. The presence of the multi-functional button on the right side of the bike provides an option to chose the desired speed for a smooth and carefree ride. It packs an 1152-Wh lithium-ion battery, the company claimed that it can run up to 52.8 miles range on a single charge.


For security, The eMoped triggers the alarm when it detects irregular movements like pushing, moving, or vehicle-accessing. There are 4 types of alarms:-


1). Visual
2). Auditory
3). Motion Sensor
4). Phone Notification system

The eMoped also has an enhanced GPS and LBS that allows the rider to easily track their trip and get notified about the latest travel status from their phone. Additionally, Segway eMoped C80 also has a Smart Seat Detection that allows the user to unlock the vehicle easily. Interested buyers can purchase it from Indegogo.
