Samsung Exynos 1080 SoC revealed, the most powerful chipset on Android


Samsung Exynos 1080 SoC has been revealed, It is the company’s latest chipset which is manufactured on the 5nm process. AnTuTu scores of the Samsung Exynos 1080 chipset also surpassed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ and became the world’s most powerful chipset in Android.

Samsung Exynos 1080 SoC is built on a 5nm process which is believed to be the same 5nm LPE process as the Snapdragon 875. So, It is expected that the chipset should offer better energy efficiency.


Samsung also revealed the AnTuTu scores of the new Exynos 1080 chipset. The chipset scored over 650,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark which is higher than the scores gained by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865+.


Also, the chipset integrates the new ARM Cortex-A78 CPU architecture along with the new Mali-G78 architecture as well. As per the ARM’s official data, the A78 provides a 20 per cent boost in CPU performance as compared to the last generation A77, whereas the G78 delivers a 25 per cent higher performance over the G77 architecture.


The Vivo X60 could be the first smartphone which will be powered by Samsung Exynos 1080 chipset. However, the South Korean tech giant is also working on another processor as well, the Exynos 2100, which may debut in a Samsung device.
