The popularity that Ola Electric scooters have gained in a short period of time is now one of the trending topics. Very recently the company has opened bookings for their cheapest e-scooter S1 Air. The order crossed 3,000 in just three hours. But meanwhile, Ola suddenly took a tough decision. The company has stopped selling the old S1 model. All information about it has also been removed from the website. As a result, Ola will sell only S1 Air and S1 Pro from now on.
Sale of Ola S1 electric scooter has been discontinued
Other reasons behind the discontinuation of S1 could be problems with production and emphasis on premium products. Currently, however, Ola community members can book the new S1 Air scooter. The buying window will be opened for the public from July 31. Talking about the specifications, the e-scooter’s 3 kWh battery pack powers the hub motor.
Ola claims that the S1 Air can run 125 km on a full charge. Its battery will take 5 hours to fully charge. Again, it can accelerate from 0-40 km/h in 3.3 seconds. The maximum speed of the scooter is 90 km per hour. It offers three riding modes – Eco, Normal and Sports.
Ola S1 Air’s feature list includes cruise control, touchscreen, proximity unlock, call alert, party mode, navigation, vacation mode, digital keys, document storage, profile and mood. Ola has kept the screen resolution 800×840 to cut costs. Its floorboard is flat. Other features include single-piece metal grab handles, 34-litre under-seat storage, drum brakes on both wheels, telescopic front forks and dual shock absorbers. Steel wheels have been replaced by alloy wheels.
