Royal Enfield’s retro classic motorcycles continued to be in great demand in May as well. Compared to the same period of 2022, the sales of the Chennai company increased by 22 percent last month. Statistics say Royal Enfield sold 77,461 (domestic + export) two-wheelers last month. Whereas in May last year the sales figure was 63,643 units. After its launch in August 2022, the manufacturer claimed that its cheapest model Hunter 350 had the highest sales in May.
Royal Enfield’s sales rose 22% in May
They sold a total of 70,795 bikes in India last month. Which was 53,525 a year ago. As a result 32% increase in sales in the domestic market. However, last year’s exports fell by 34% to 6,666 units from 10,118 units in May last year. It appears that from April to May this year, Royal Enfield handed over the keys of new motorcycles to a total of 1,50,597 buyers. It was 1,25,798 units during the same period in the previous year.
In this context, Royal Enfield CEO B Govindarajan said, “We have been able to maintain the pace of growth in sales. Hunter’s performance is quite promising. We witnessed the highest sales of the bike in the month. Last month we launched the Super Meteor 650 in Australia and New Zealand markets. Which is getting huge response from customers.”
Incidentally, Royal Enfield is currently gearing up for the launch of several new models. The list includes – the new cruisers based on the platform of the Himalayan 450 and 650 Twins. Besides, the company is going to bring the new generation Bullet 350 in the market this year.
