Triumph and Bajaj Auto jointly launched a pair of 400 cc motorcycles in India last week. These are – Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. Note that on June 27, two models were unveiled in the global market. Within 10 days, the two models crossed 10,000 unit bookings, Triumph said.

The Bajaj-Triumph Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The company has announced that its delivery will start from the end of July. Meanwhile, the price of the Scrambler 400X has not been announced yet. The company said that it will be released in October, the month before Puja.
Bajaj-Triumph Speed 400 is basically a modern-retro street naked motorcycle. It largely follows the Speed Twin 900 in terms of design. Whereas the Triumph Scrambler 400X is a fully-fledged scrambler bike. That’s why it gets larger front wheels and dual purpose tires. Its design similarities with the Scrambler 900 are noticeable. Both bikes feature digital instrument cluster, full LED lighting and dual channel ABS.
Both motorcycles are powered by a 398 cc liquid cooled, single cylinder TR-series engine. It complies with Euro-5 emission norms. The engine produces 40 hp of power at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. 6-speed gearbox connected to the motor.
Meanwhile, a screenshot on social media recently claimed the on-road price of the Bajaj-Triumph Speed 400 at Rs 3.38 lakh. However, Bajaj claims that the leaked screenshot is fake. The company has clarified that they have not revealed the on-road price of this motorcycle till now. Today i.e. July 10 will be informed.
