SUV major Mahindra has released its sales figures for July. Last month saw the highest SUV sales in the Indian market in the company’s history. The company is selling 36,205 units of the SUV in July. As a result, sales increased by 30 percent last month compared to the same period last year.
Mahindra sold the most SUVs in July
In July 2023, Mahindra sold a total of 66,124 units of other vehicles. That is 18% higher than the same period in 2022. Mahindra has sold a total of 37,519 SUVs in domestic and foreign markets. Vijay Nakara, president of the company’s automotive division, said, “It was a record-breaking month for us. We are excited to have sold the highest ever SUV (36,205 units) in a month in India.”
Incidentally, recently the company’s flagship SUV XUV700 touched the one lakh sales milestone. This has been possible within 20 months of launch. The Scorpio series saw the highest number of buyers in a single month since its re-launch in July. Added Nakara in this regard, “We continue to see strong demand for our key brands. To maintain this trend of sales, we will look at uninterrupted supply of semiconductor chips and other equipment.”
Recently Mahindra released the teaser of their new pick-up truck. The car will be unveiled on August 15 in Cape Town, South Africa. It is expected to be based on the Mahindra Scorpio N platform. Mahindra may also unveil the electric version of the Thar off-road SUV on the same day.
