Oppo Reno 5 series tipped to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 775G, Snapdragon 860 SoCs


Oppo Reno 5 series will feature Qualcomm unannounced mid-range and flagship chipset- Snapdragon 775G and Snapdragon 860. It is also believed that the series includes the Oppo Reno 5, Reno 5 Pro, and the Reno 5 Pro+. But Oppo hasn’t confirmed the existence of the series.



A well-known tipster named Asen Jun revealed the names of the rumored Oppo Reno 5 series phones and their processors. As per leaked details, Oppo is all set to launch its Oppo Reno 5 series with Qualcomm unannounced mid-range and flagship chipset- Snapdragon 775G and Snapdragon 860.


As per Qualcomm Snapdragon processors listing, the Snapdragon 775G SoC appears to be an updated version of the Snapdragon 765G whereas the Snapdragon 860 looks like to be a slightly lower variant of the Snapdragon 865 SoC. Earlier this month, a known Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station (translated) shared the leaks of Snapdragon 860 SoC in which he reveals that this processor was mentioned in an Oppo meeting.


Oppo introduced the Oppo Reno 4 Pro to India at the end of July. It features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 180Hz touch sampling rate. The phone is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC. The phone will boast a quad rear camera setup and a single selfie camera housed within the hole-punch design. The Oppo Reno 4 Pro packs with a 4,000mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging support.
