Oppo filed a patent for 3D curved display smartwatch: report

Oppo has filed a patent for a 3D curved Display smartwatch. The company already launched a 3D curved display back in March 2020 but it didn’t feature a circular design but a rectangular one.

According to a LetsGoDigital report, the Oppo upcoming 3D curved display smartwatch patent comes with a rounded display manufactured on a rectangular housing. Several sensors can be observed on the bottom of the smartwatch. It is believed that these sensors are used to monitor heart rate, sleep tracking, and more.

Additionally, there is a button and a digital crown for basic controls on the right side of the smartwatch. The company was patented three variants of the smartwatch, the first one is featuring a rounded 3D curved display on a rectangular housing whereas the other one comes with a more square-shaped flat display.

It is expected to be a more affordable variant. Lastly, the third one was a fully rounded 3D curved display but built upon a circular housing, with a unique looking aesthetic that would probably be coupled with kinds types of straps.

Earlier in July, Oppo launched its first smartwatch. It comes in two different sizes, The 41mm features a 1.91-inch AMOLED panel with 402 x 476 pixels resolution. On the other hand, The 46mm has a larger 1.6-inch AMOLED but with 320 x 360 pixels resolution. Under the hood, The smartwatch is powered by Snapdragon 3100 Wear.
