Tata Punch retained the top spot as the best selling SUV in India in May as well. Mahindra Scorpio has made it to the top five in terms of sales.
June 2024 has just arrived with the arrival of monsoon. As the new month begins, the list of the top five SUVs sold in the Indian market in May has been released. Surprisingly, Tata Nexon, the long-time leader in the segment, did not make it to the top five. However, another model of Tata, Tata Punch, has come to the first place. Let's take a look at the list of top five best selling SUVs in the Indian market in June.
Tata Punch
Tata Punch retained the title of India's best selling SUV sold last month. Statistics show that the car sold a total of 18,949 units in May this year. Whereas 11,124 units were sold during the same period last year. As a result, sales have increased by 70% this year. The current price of this car with 5-star safety rating is Tk 6.13 lakh to Tk 10.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Creta
Hyundai Creta is currently the second best selling SUV in India. 14,662 Cretas were sold last month. Compared to May 2023, sales were seen to increase by 1%. The mid-size SUV was recently launched in two new variants – the mid-cycle facelift and the N-Line version.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Third on the list is the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. In the previous month, a total of 14,186 buyers were able to hand over the keys to the Indo-Japanese company. Compared to the same period of the previous year, sales have increased by 6% this year. The car is priced between Tk 8.34 lakh to Tk 14.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mahindra Scorpio
Mahindra Scorpio is one of the best selling SUVs in India. Apart from the new generation Scorpio N, the company's portfolio includes the Scorpio Classic. In the previous month, these two models combined sold a total of 13,717 units. Which is 47% more than the same period of the previous year.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
Maruti Suzuki Fronx occupies the fifth position in the list. The second sub compact SUV model after the Brezza is based on the Baleno. The car sold a total of 12,681 units in the previous month. Demand increased by 29% compared to May last year. The car is priced between Tk 7.51 lakh to Tk 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom).
