Union Minister Nitin Gadkari made significant comments on diesel at a CII function today. He said that the countrymen should say goodbye to diesel soon. Not only that, the minister also appealed to the car manufacturing companies to stop the production of diesel cars.

Nitin Gadkari has said that if the production of diesel cars is not stopped soon, he will tax them so much that it will become difficult to sell the cars. According to Nitin Gadkari, very soon we will have to leave petrol-diesel and move towards a new path free of pollution.

In fact, Godkari has been making continuous efforts to reduce fuel pollution and its imports. Gadkari also said that, 'I will ask the finance minister to increase the price of diesel cars by 10 per cent.'

Earlier referring to his car, Nitin Gadkari said that 'My car runs on ethanol. Compared to petrol, I had to spend Rs 25 per km, but for ethanol, I save a lot. A liter of ethanol costs Rs 60 and petrol costs around Rs 100.
