New Honda Shine 125 Launched at Rath Yatra Punya Lagna, Runs on Ethanol, Comes with 10 Year Warranty

Honda extended the journey of Shine 125 in the country’s commuter bike world thanks to Rath Yatra. The new version of the motorcycle was launched today. The latest model comes with an updated OBD2 emission compliant engine. which is capable of running on E20 (a mixture of 80% petrol and 20% ethanol) fuel. The 2023 Honda Shine 125 is available in drum and disc variants and is priced at Rs 79,800 and Rs 83,800 (ex-showroom) respectively.

Honda is offering a three-year standard warranty on their new Shine. However, buyers can extend it up to a total of ten years through an optional extended warranty of seven years. The 2023 Honda Shine 125 will be available in five color schemes – Black, Genie Gray Metallic, Matte Axis Grey, Revel Red Metallic and Decent Blue Metallic.

2023 Honda Shine 125 Engine

The new model of the Honda Shine 125 is powered by a BSVI OBD2 emission compliant 125 cc PGM-FI engine. Which comes with Enhanced Smart Power or eSP. It will produce 10.54 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 11 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Besides, the engine has friction reduction technology available. Because of this it will help reduce friction and temperature through piston cooling jets. Honda has again used an external fuel pump. This will not only help in more power and smooth riding, but will also help in increasing the mileage.

2023 Honda Shine 125 Hardware & Features

Talking about the hardware, the new Shine 100 gets telescopic front fork and hydraulic type rear shock absorber with 5-step adjustability. 18 inch alloy wheels with 80/100 section tubeless tires front and rear. Braking duties can be chosen with either 240mm disc or 130mm drum brakes at the front. There is a 130 mm drum brake at the rear.

The feature list of the 2023 Honda Shine 125 includes combi braking system, side-stand cut-off, halogen headlamps, engine kill switch, sealed chain and an analog speedometer with fuel gauge. Its ground clearance and wheelbase are 162 mm and 1,285 mm respectively. Seat height from the ground is 791 mm. The single piece seat is 651 mm long.
