Honda recently launched their new 125 cc scooter Dio 125. The scooter has been priced at Rs 83,400 (ex-showroom) in India. It is the company’s third 125cc model in India after Activa and Grazia. TVS Ntorq 125 is the main rival of Honda Dio 125 in the domestic market. So who is the best of the two scooters? Let’s find out through a comparative discussion.
Honda Dio 125 vs TVS Ntorq 125 : Engine Specifications
Dio 125 is powered by a 124 cc single cylinder engine. Which will produce 8.16 bhp of power and 10.5 Nm of torque. On the other hand Ntorq 125 has 124.8 cc single cylinder motor. The scooter is available in two engine tunes. Power output of 9.25 bhp and torque output of 10.5 Nm match the standard model. Whereas the Race XP edition gets 10.06 bhp of power and 10.8 Nm of torque. That is, Ntork is ahead in performance.
Honda Dio 125 vs TVS Ntorq 125 : Features
In terms of features, Honda Dio 125 is overtaken by TVS Ntorq 125. Its Race Edition features LED DRLs, automatic headlamps, GPS navigation, USB charging port and mobile connectivity. The Ntorq’s top-spec XT trim also has voice assist.
On the other hand, Honda Dio 125 comes with Smart Key feature. Through which lock-unlock can be done without any key. There is also an ACG starter, which supports idle start/stop functionality. Immobilizer and Last Park Location Assist are present as standard features on both models.
Honda Dio 125 vs TVS Ntorq 125 : Variants & Price
The Honda Dio 125 scooter is available in two variants – Standard and Smart. They are priced at Tk 86,160 and Tk 94,060 respectively (ex-showroom). Whereas the TVS Ntorq 125 is available in six trims. Prices range from Tk 87,023 to Tk 1,08,380 (ex-showroom).
From the above discussion it is clear that TVS Ntorq 125 is far ahead of Honda Dio 125 in terms of features. Again, the TVS model is more effective in terms of performance. But Honda’s branding and engine are much more reliable. In that case Dio 125 can also be bought.
