People used to see three doors in lifestyle SUVs. But that habit has started to change since the arrival of Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door. Now Mahindra has caught up with Maruti. They are finalizing the final stage of the launch of the five-door model of the very popular Thar. This time, another organization is going to be the pioneer of this path.
The Force Gurkha 5-door is coming to India this year
Force Motors is planning to introduce a five-door model of its powerful off-roader Gurkha. Recently, the company has fueled speculations by releasing a teaser. The car will face stiff competition from the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door and the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door. Please note that currently the Force Gurkha is sold in a three-door version.
The teaser image gives a little idea about the design of the Force Gurkha 5-door. The off-roader has a long wheelbase. The boxy design remains as before. It will be offered with roll down windows, which will help the rear row passengers to get outside air. Earlier spy shots revealed a new front grille, bumper and square head lamps.
The cabin is larger than before and several changes have been made to the features. It is expected to have a second bench or a captain’s seat. Again the boot space can be increased than before. It is brought in keeping in mind those who love to travel with their family members. But there is no compromise on off-roading ability.
The new Force Gurkha 5-door gets the same 2.6 liter four cylinder, turbo diesel engine as before. It produces a maximum power of 91 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. 5-speed manual transmission, 4×4 configuration and rear wheel drive options will be available. It is estimated that this car will be launched in the Indian market by mid-2024.
