WhatsApp is going to bring another great feature for Android users. At least the new report says so! In fact in the past few days the instant messaging platform has introduced several new features like new user interface (UI), message edit, personal chat lock, etc., which not everyone (mainly stable users) have access to yet. However, in the meantime WABetaInfo website claims in their latest report that WhatsApp is now working on a new feature, which will give users the option to re-share their previous status updates. This new feature will be called ‘Status Archive’, and it is expected to be very useful for business accounts.
Status will be saved in WhatsApp account even after 24 hours
WhatsApp’s detailed update tracker WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot of the upcoming feature, which shows that a notification will appear in the Status tab once it’s activated, confirming whether the status has been archived for users’ accounts. If the feature is activated, the text ‘Your Status Updates will now be archived on your device after 24 hours’ will appear on the app screen.
Benefits of WhatsApp’s ‘Status Archive’ feature
Right now, if you post a status on your WhatsApp, it will be automatically deleted after 24 hours. However, when the new ‘Status Archive’ feature is launched, users will be able to share the deleted status again and reach more people. In this case, users can save the status updates on their phone for 30 days.
It should be noted that the new status archive tool is being developed specifically for business users. Currently it will be rolled out to select WhatsApp Business Android Beta (version 2.23.11.18) users. It may roll out to everyone in the next few days.
