Mukesh Ambani is now World’s 8th-richest person, The chairman of Reliance Industries Limited is now worth $72.4 billion. Reliance Industries Limited got billions of investment in the past couple of months from the tech giants including Facebook, Silver Lake, and most recently Qualcomm.

But for a few hours yesterday, Mukesh Ambani is the 6th richest person in the world beating Elon Musk and Google co-founders, Larry Page and Sergei Brin. As per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Ambani’s wealth swell by $2.1 billion since yesterday alone, due to which his estimated net worth now stands at $72.4 billion. Do remember that these numbers change on a daily basis and Ambani is at number 6 at the time of filing of this report. But now Mukesh Ambani is on 6th position with a net worth of $71.6 billion dollars.

Google said on Monday it will invest $10 billion in the coming years in India to boost the adoption of digital technologies in the country. If the deal between RIL ( Reliance Industries Limited ) and Google happens, Search Engine Boss will join the list of top investors in Reliance Jio. RIL has sold 25 percent of the stakes so far, The last investment in Jio was made by US-based company Qualcomm of about Rs730 Crore. Facebook remains the largest investor in RIL so far with USD 5.7 billion.


According to the Economic Times report, Sundar Pichai, Google CEO told “We’ll do it (deploy funds) through a mix of equity investments in large Indian companies, startups, partnerships, as well as infrastructure investments like data centers,” he said. The fund size, he said, provides an “opportunity to directly make larger investments” in bigger companies.
