MediaTek MT9602 Chipset Launched for Smart TVs, May Debut in India With Upcoming Motorola TVs

MediaTek MT9602 smart TV processor with enhanced AI launched, targeted to 4K HDR displays. The chipset is said to deliver “real-time video optimisation with improved picture and audio quality”. This smart TV SoC is said to make its debut with Motorola TVs that are scheduled to launched in India on October 9.


MediaTek MT9602 Processor specifications and features


MediaTek MT9602 is a quad-core processor and features Arm Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with Arm Mali-G52 MC1. The processor can support a maximum of 4K (3,840×2,160 pixels) resolution, 2GB RAM, and 60Hz refresh rate. The new processor supports BBC HLG, HDR10, Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10+, and more. The processor also supports AV1, AVS2, HEVC, VP9, H.264, and SHVC [email protected] video decoding with H.264 encoding.


MediaTek introduced AI-PQ (picture quality) & AI-AQ (audio quality) technologies that work together to automatically enhance the picture and audio quality by real-time video optimization. MediaTek MT9602 comes with HDMI 2.0/1.4 with HDCP 2.2, HDMI 2.1a, and USB 2.0 support. You get Dolby Atmos audio decoding and 4x directional microphone support.

The upcoming Motorola TV series is launching on October 9 in partnership with Flipkart. The Motorola Launch event is scheduled at 3 pm IST on October 9 along with Tvs the company will also launch a refrigerator, washing machine, and air conditioner.
