Mediatek Dimensity 900 5G Chipset has been launched with 120Hz FHD+ display & 108MP primary camera support. The Taiwanese smartphone chipset maker added a new 5G chipset to its Dimensity series portfolio. The Dimensity 900 5G are manufactured on 6nm process technology and offer a peak download speed of up to 2.7Gbps.
Mediatek Dimensity 900 5G specifications
According to the MediaTek press release, MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G is based on 6nm architecture. It is an Octa-core CPU that features 2x Arm Cortex-A78 cores clocked up to 2.4GHz + 6x Arm Cortex-A55 cores clocked up to 2GHz. The processor can be paired with up to LPDDR5 RAM & UFS 3.1 storage. Coming to the display, The Chipset can support up to Full HD+ (2040 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has MediaTek MiraVision HDR video support that upgrades the video capabilities from a standard dynamic range (SDR) to HDR with real-time enhancements of HDR10+ video playback to improve color and contrast of content.
For graphics, It packs Arm Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. In terms of camera, The chipset can support up to 108-Megapixel single-camera setup and a 20+20MP dual-camera setup. Additional camera feature includes AI-Panorama Night Shot, Noise reduction combining 3DNR + MFNR, 4K HDR Video recording, Video EIS and more. Coming to the connectivity options, The chipset comes with dual-SIM 5G standby function, 5G SA/NSA networking, dual-SIM VoNR voice services, 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi 6 connection, Bluetooth 5.2, and GNSS.
The General manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit & Corporate VP, Dr. JC Hsu said: “Dimensity 900 brings a suite of connectivity, display and 4K HDR visual enhancements to high-tier 5G smartphones and gives brands great design flexibility for their 5G portfolios”.
“The chipset’s support for 5G and Wi-Fi 6 ensures users get the most of out their devices with super-fast and reliable connectivity” he added.
There is no information on which will be the first device that will make its debut with Dimensity 900 5G chipset yet. However, the company claims that MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G SoC powered device could be launch in the global market in Q2 2021.
