Mediatek Dimensity 800U has been revealed with Dual 5G+5G connectivity options for Mid-range smartphones. This Mediatek Chipset offers 11 percent faster CPU and 28℅ faster GPU performance than Dimensity 700 series. Dimensity 800U is based on 7nm architecture and supports screen refresh rate up to 120Hz displays.

Mediatek finally launched Dimensity 800U series chipset for Mid-range smartphones. It is an Octa-Core SoC that is based on 7nm technology. According to the Mediatek site, the Dimensity 800U SoC has four Cortex-A76 cores which are clocked at up to 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores which are clocked at up to 2GHz. In terms of GPU, the chipset comes with Mali-G57 MC3 that supports a maximum resolution of 2,520×1,080 pixels and screen refresh rate support up to 120Hz. The GPU also allows for video encoding and playback at 4K resolution @ 30fps


Reportedly, the Dimensity 800U SoC can pair up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM which is clocked at a maximum frequency of 2,133MHz and UFS 2.2 storage. As mentioned, SoC provides 11 percent faster CPU, 28℅ faster GPU performance, and load games 1.4 seconds faster than Dimensity 700 series. In terms of Optics, Dimensity 800U SoC equips with support for up to 64-megapixel rear cameras or dual 20-megapixel + 16-megapixel. It also comes with the support of HDR10+ content playback


For Connectivity, This chipset include support of 5G, Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), GPS/ QZSS L1+ L5/ Galileo E1 + E5a/ BeiDou B1C + B2a/ NAVIC, and Bluetooth 5.1. The Density 800U SoC’s incorporated 5G modem supports 5G+5G Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS), VoNR, sub-6Ghz SA, and NSA networks, and MediaTek’s 5G UltraSave technology for less data consumption.
