MediaTek Dimensity 2000 Chipset Expected to launch in Q2 2021. The Taiwanese Chipset maker confirmed that they were using TSMC’s 5nm process node in their upcoming Flagship Processor. However, Mediatek is currently planning to launch their Dimensity 600 and 400-series 5G chipsets for the budget and mid-range smartphones.
Mediatek Dimensity 1000 chipset was introduced in November last year to compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. Now, The Taiwanese Chipset maker planning to launch its successor Dimensity 2000 in Q2 next year, i.e between April to June 2021. According to reports, It is expected to be based on the 5nm process node which will be a major improvement in terms of performance and power efficiency over the 7nm Dimensity chipsets. Mediatek also confirmed using TSMC’s 5nm process node, which would have been used in Huawei’s Kirin chipsets.
MediaTek Dimensity 2000 Leaks
MediaTek may use ARM Cortex-A78 cores which is 50% more power-efficient than its predecessor for the architecture of Dimensity 2000 chipset. The Upcoming 5G Flagship processor from Mediatek will also bake with the latest ARM Mali-G78 GPU for boosted gaming experiences.
The company has already launched the Dimensity 800, 820, and 720 chipsets to compete with the Snapdragon 765G and 690G 5G chipsets in mid-range smartphones. Now, The chipmaker is currently planning to launch even more Dimensity 600 and 400 series processors that will offer 5G connectivity in budget range smartphones too.
