Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG is likely to be launched in India within the next few months. It will be based on the petrol model of the Swift. It is said that the car will get a mileage of 35 km per kg of fuel.
The fourth generation Maruti Suzuki Swift was launched in India not too long ago. But in the meantime, Maruti Suzuki has started making bigger plans with this popular hatchback. This time the CNG version of the car is going to come to the market. The report claims that Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG will be launched in the Indian market within the next few months. It will follow the standard model in terms of design. Even in terms of styling, graphics and features, the car will be at par with the ICE version.
Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG: Engine Specifications & Mileage (Probable)
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG is likely to be powered by a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z12E naturally aspirated petrol engine. It can generate a maximum of 82 horsepower and 112 Nm of torque. The powertrain can be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed automatic transmission option.
Speculations are rife that the Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG will give a mileage of more than 35 km per kg of fuel. However, the report casts doubt on the veracity of such claims. Because there is no confirmation from the company yet.
Incidentally, the price of the Maruti Suzuki Swift Facelift petrol model has gone from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom). It is estimated that the price may increase by Rs 80,000 to 90,000 when the CNG model comes to the market. Competitors of Swift CNG are Tata Tiago CNG and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG.
