Maruti Suzuki has announced a price cut of Rs 5,000 on models with Auto Gear Shift (AGS). The list includes Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Fronx and Ignis.
On the first day of June, Maruti Suzuki India announced a reduction in car prices. From today i.e. June 1, 2024, the Indo Japanese company has announced a price cut on various models of its auto gear shift lineup. The list includes Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Fronx and Ignis. In an official statement, Maruti Suzuki announced the price cut but did not reveal the reason behind the decision.
Maruti Suzuki has reduced the price of the car
In a statement, Maruti Suzuki India said, “The company is announcing a price cut for the auto gear shift variant of each model.” There the names of the above models are mentioned. The company has announced a reduction of Rs 5,000 per model. The new price is effective from today.
What is 'Auto Gear Shift'?
Auto Gear Shift or AGS is an automatic transmission technology. Which offers the convenience of manual and automatic transmission together. This feature was first brought to India by Maruti Suzuki in 2014. Gear changes and clutch control are done electronically in the AGS system without driver intervention.
This automatic transmission has an intelligent shift control actuator, which is controlled by the transmission electronic controller unit. This system helps in automatic gear shifting. As a result, the driver gets the benefit of comfortable and hassle-free driving. Maruti Suzuki is hopeful that the price cut will attract more buyers to the AGS model.
