Tata Motors (Tata Motors) is responsible for introducing new surprises in the car market. At the beginning of the new year, the company appeared again with a surprise. They launched the country’s first automatic CNG car a few days ago. These are – Tiago CNG AMT and Tigor CNG AMT. But today’s discussion is about five important things about the Tiago CNG AMT model, which make the car better than its rivals.
Automatic gearbox
The Tiago CNG is India’s first CNG powered car to come with an automatic gearbox option. It has a 5-speed AMT unit. It will run on a 1.2 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. It will produce 73.5 PS of power and 95 Nm of torque.
Dual cylinder technology
Last year Tata introduced the Alcazar iCNG vehicle with dual cylinder technology. Which is well received by customers. The company has given the same technology to Tiago CNG. The dual cylinder present in it helps to increase the boot space.
Four-star safety rating
The Tiago won a four-star rating in the crash test last year from Global NCAP. The car’s rival models there either received lower ratings, or did not even participate in the test.
Additional features
Tata is offering only automatic gearbox on the higher-end trims of this Tiago CNG model like XT, XZ+ and XZ NRG. This means additional features like push button start stop, rear washer with wipers, tire pressure monitoring system, rain sensing wipers, ISOFIX child seats and 8-speaker sound system are available on these models.
More CNG variants
Hyundai offers the lower trims of their Grand i10 Nios like Magma and Sportz in CNG fuel. Similarly, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and WagonR’s LXi and VXi options are available with CNG. There are higher end variants of the Tiago available on CNG fuel that benefit from a host of features. The car is priced between Tk 7.90 lakh to Tk 8.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
