In the past few years, there has been a surge in the sales of SUVs in the country’s market. Instead of small four-wheelers, people are leaning towards sports utility vehicles that are bigger in size, have powerful engines, are robust, and are loaded with features. And currently, the king of such sub-four meter compact SUVs is the Nexon. Tata Motors recently set a record by producing six lakh units.
Tata Nexon has touched a new milestone
Tata sells both the ICE and electric versions of the Nexon. It is the most popular sub-compact SUV in the Indian market. The car competes with – Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonnet and Hyundai Venue. The Nexon is currently priced between Rs 8.10 lakh and Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Nexon is sold in four variants – Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless. The car is available in two engine variants – 1.2 liter turbo petrol and 1.5 liter diesel engine. The former produces 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. It is available with a choice of 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The diesel engine model producing 113 bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed AMT.
On the other hand, the electric version of the Nexon costs between Tk 14.74 lakh and Tk 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in three variants – Creative, Fearless and Empowered. The car can be purchased with two battery options.
The 30 kWh battery pack model of the Nexon EV gets 127 bhp of power and 215 Nm of torque. It offers a range of 325 km on a full charge. Again the 40.5 kWh battery model outputs 142 bhp of power and 215 Nm of torque. It is capable of running 465 km on a full charge.
