Mahindra’s popular SUV is launching in Australia just 10 days after shaking the Indian market

Mahindra’s popular SUV XUV700 is going to enter the country of Ricky Ponting and Shane Warne on June 15. While available in five and seven seater variants in India, the Mahindra XUV700 will be launched in Australia only as a seven seater variant. AX7 and AX7L trims will be available, according to company sources. The vehicle will be one of the main rivals to the Mitsubishi Outlander, Honda CR-V and Nissan X-Trail that will be hitting the Australian roads after the launch.

All variants of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV will be powered by a four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbo-charged petrol engine. It produces a maximum power of 159 kW and a maximum torque of 380 Nm. It uses a six-speed automatic gearbox, supplied by Aisin. Both the variants to be launched in Australia are offered with four wheel drive technology.

Until now, the XUV500 was sold in Australia. Mahindra is going to launch XUV700 in that country instead. However, no information has been released on how the car will be priced in Australia. Let it be known that the Scorpio and S11 (4×4 pick-up) cars are also available from Mahindra in that country since long.

Incidentally, Mahindra XUV700 was first launched in August 2021. The car is going to enter Australia exactly two years later. This car has a bunch of advanced features including Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). These include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Pilot Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and Auto High Beam.

With the increase in the demand for SUVs in the country, the popularity of XUV700 has also increased by leaps and bounds. That is why the waiting period is very long from the first day of launch. In less than two years, more than one lakh of these cars have been sold in the country. It is available in the Indian market with mStallion petrol engine as well as mHawk diesel engine.

As per Mahindra’s claim, the XUV700 is capable of accelerating from a standstill to 60 kmph in just 5 seconds. Apart from custom mode, it also has three riding modes – Zip, Zep and Zoom – for the convenience of customers.
