Mahindra XUV 3XO recently entered the compact SUV market in India. This step of the company is to fulfill the dream of buyers to buy SUV at a slightly lower price. On the other hand, Mahindra Thar is a ragbag model in the lifestyle SUV market. Whether it's on rocks or deep muddy roads, it's nimble. But now in the middle of May Mahindra suddenly increased the price of some variants of this car by 10,000 rupees. As a result, the cost of buying this car will now start from Tk 11.35 lakh to Tk 17.6 lakh (ex-showroom). Let's see which variants of this car have increased in price.
Mahindra Thar price hiked by Rs.10,000
The price of the base diesel AX(O) MT RWD variant of the Mahindra Thar has gone up by Rs 10,000 to Rs 11.35 lakh (ex-showroom). LX Diesel MT RWD and LX Petrol AT RWD have been increased by the same amount. The first one has been priced at Rs 12.85 lakh (ex-showroom). The second one will now cost Rs 14.1 lakh (ex-showroom). Apart from this, there is no change in the prices of other variants.
Note that Mahindra Thar is one of the most popular lifestyle SUVs in India. Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door and Force Gurkha are competitors in the market. Currently this Mahindra car is sold with one petrol and two diesel engines. These are – 2.2 liter CRDe diesel, 1.5 liter CRDe diesel and 2.0 liter TGDi petrol engine. These are available with a choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gears.
Incidentally, the company is currently working on bringing the five-door version of the Mahindra Thar to the market. This model is likely to be named Mahindra Armada. It is estimated that it will be launched in the Indian market on Independence Day this year i.e. August 15. However, no confirmation has been received from the company.
