Hyundai’s new micro sports utility vehicle (SUV) Exter is coming to India in a few days. The South Korean company’s small SUV has already managed to create a stir. Hyundai has launched the pre-booking of the car across the country. It will make its official debut in India on July 10. While the price has not been revealed yet, the Hyundai Exter’s biggest rival in the micro SUV segment is the Tata Punch. This report compares the various aspects of these two cars.
Hyundai Exter vs Tata Punch: Engine and Gear Box
A 1.2 liter four cylinder conventional petrol engine provides all the power for the Hyundai Exeter. Its power and torque outputs are 82 bhp and 114 Nm respectively. On the other hand, Tata Punch uses a 1.2 liter engine, but it is a three cylinder. This engine produces a maximum power of 85 bhp and a torque of 113 Nm. Both the cars are available with five-speed manual and automatic transmission systems.
Hyundai Exter vs Tata Punch: Features and Safety
While both the cars have various advanced features, the Hyundai Exter is a few steps ahead of the Tata Punch. It gets electric sunroof, touch screen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, dual camera dashboard camera, six airbags as standard. However, even though Tata Punch does not have such additional features, it has received a five-star rating from the international safety rating agency NCAP. In other words, this Tata micro SUV is many times ahead in terms of passenger safety.
Hyundai Exter vs Tata Punch: Price
Hyundai has fixed the launch date of Exeter on July 10. Details about its price are not yet available. However, its estimated ex-showroom price is expected to be between Tk 6 lakh and Tk 10 lakh. On the other hand, at the moment, the ex-showroom price of the base model of the Tata Punch has gone from Tk 6 lakh to a maximum of Tk 9.52 lakh.
