Lately in India, buyers’ fondness for big engine scooters is getting noticed a bit more. As a result, companies determined to meet the demand are eager to bring such models to market. Hero MotoCorp recently trialled their Zoom 110 scooter with a 125cc engine. Seeing this, Hero’s main rival, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India or HMSI (HMSI) has started preparations to bring a new model of 125 cc. The Japanese company is going to bring the 125 cc version of their stylish scooter Dio 110 sold in the country. Although Honda has not given any official message in this regard. A new teaser has already been released by the company. Guess it is Honda Dio 125.
Honda Dio 125 : Design
The teaser shows the scooter with a sporty look. It has graphics that will catch anyone’s eye. It is similar to the Honda Dio in terms of design. The caption of the teaser reads “Take your style up a notch”. A mild yet sporty sound is heard from its exhaust. It is estimated that the 125 cc Honda DO may be launched this month. In terms of style, chances are high that there won’t be much change. However, the scooter may appear with a new color scheme and 125 cc badging.
Honda Dio 125 : Engine Specifications and Features
Activa 125 and Grazia 125 engines are likely to be used to power the Dio 125. Its 123.9 cc air-cooled engine produces a maximum power of 8.18 bhp and 10.3 Nm of torque. It has a CVT automatic transmission which is connected to the rear wheels. Again the engine gets ACG silent starter system and auto starts/stop functionality. Honda may offer their H-Smart technology on the upcoming scooter. It has features like LED lighting, side stand cut off, pass switch etc.
Incidentally, Honda is currently working on a new 350cc motorcycle. It will be based on the same platform as the Honda H’ness CB350 and CB350RS. So far no information about the design of the bike is known. It could be a cruiser bike. In that case, Royal Enfield will compete with Meteor 350. It will also compete with the Yezdi Roadster. The new motorcycle will be powered by a 350 cc single cylinder engine producing 21 bhp of power at 5,500 rpm and 30 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. It has a 5-speed gearbox.
