There is nothing new to say about the 125cc motorcycle segment. Bikes in this category are quite popular for being powerful and fuel efficient. Also the maintenance cost is low. So most of the two-wheeler companies have launched models with a bird's eye view of this segment. However, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has managed to dominate the 125 cc bike market despite the fierce competition. They announced the Shine 125, and SP125 on the back of huge demand. The Japanese firm's sales of 125 cc bikes in eastern India have reportedly crossed 30 lakh sales.
Honda set a new precedent in India in terms of sales
Note that Honda is leading the 125 cc motorcycle segment in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Northeast India. In the financial year 2023-24, the company's market share in the region is 41.5%. Out of which Bihar contributes the largest (35%).
Yogesh Mathur, Director (Sales & Marketing), Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “We are thrilled to celebrate the Shine 125 and SP125 hitting the 3 million sales milestone in Eastern India.” He thanked the customers for their trust in achieving this success.
Honda Shine 125 and SP125 are so much attracted by customers for their advanced features, stylish design and advanced technology. Again, Honda credits the rapid expansion of urban areas and consumers becoming tech-savvy. Incidentally, they currently have more than 1,100 touchpoints in the states of eastern India.
