Hero MotoCorp has partnered with American company Harley-Davidson to tap into the retro motorcycle market in India and has launched a new model. Here it is – Harley-Davidson X440. Prices start from Tk 2,29,000 (ex-showroom). Competing with the X440 will be the Royal Enfield Classic 350, a bike that rocked the retro segment for a long time. A muscular design present on the neo-retro Harley-Davidson X440. Its side panel is clean. On the other hand Royal Enfield Classic 350 has a different design. The bike is highlighted by retro styling elements. It features circular headlights, tear drop shaped full tank and triangular side panels.

Powering the HD X440 is a 440 cc, air-cooled, two-valve, oil cooler engine. It produces 27.4 PS of power and 38 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Classic gets 20.2 PS of power and 27 Nm of torque from its 349 cc single cylinder, air cooled engine.
Harley-Davidson X440 vs Royal Enfield Classic 350: Hardware and Features
The X440 premium bike will run with a 43 mm inverted fork and preload adjustable gas charged twin shocks. It features ByBre discs on two wheels with dual channel ABS. One will come with 18-inch front and 17-inch rear L-alloy wheels with new Zapper Hyke tires.
On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 features – a telescopic front fork and 6-step preload adjustable dual shock absorbers. A 300 mm front and 270 mm rear disc brakes are present to handle the braking duties.
Talking about the features, the Harley-Davidson X440 features a TFT console. Turn-by-turn navigation, music control, calls and messages etc. will be featured here along with smartphone connectivity. On the other hand, the Classic 350 offers additional speedo controls, digital tripmeter, fuel gauge and service reminder. Again the bike is available in tripper navigation option with smart phone connectivity and turn by turn navigation.

Harley-Davidson X440 price starts from Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Whereas the base variant of Royal Enfield Classic 350 is priced at Rs 1,93,000. This time, customers can expect more power, performance, and premium features along with brand names and heroes like Harley Davidson by spending Rs 37,000 extra. It goes without saying that the Classic 350 will be under huge pressure.
