Adding pressure on the middle class, Maruti Suzuki has announced an increase in the cost of buying two popular cars in the Indian market. The company has hiked prices on select variants of its best-selling hatchback Swift and SUV Grand Vitara. This new price is effective from April 10, 2024.
Maruti Swift and Grand Vitara prices increased
Maruti Suzuki Swift used to cost between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 9.03 lakh, now the price of the car has increased by Rs 25,000. Again the price of Grand Vitara car Sigma was 10.80 lakh to 20.09 lakh till now. This price has been increased by Rs 19,000 this time.
Maruti Suzuki did not elaborate on the reason behind the price hike. It has been informed that the price has been increased after checking the price regularly. On the other hand, Maruti sold a total of 15,728 Swifts in the last month i.e. March, 2024.
Let it be known that the Swift occupied the fifth position in the list of top ten best selling passenger vehicles last month. And Grand Vitara has achieved the thirteenth place in that list. It sold a total of 11,232 units in March.
