Garmin Venu Sq and Venu Sq Music Edition finally launched with a list of fitness and healthcare features. Both smartwatches have similar specifications except the inbuilt storage, which is limited in the Venu Sq Music Edition for storing music. The Venu Sq series is highlighted for the Pulse Oximeter function that detects blood oxygen levels.
Garmin Venu Sq and Venu Sq Music Edition Specifications
As mentioned earlier, Garmin Venu Sq and Venu Sq Music Edition have identical specifications though the Music edition comes with storage for up to 500 songs that can be listened to using Bluetooth headphones or speakers. In terms of display, the smartwatch feature a 1.3-inch (240×240 pixels) color display with touch support, and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The always-on-display mode is also present in the watch.
The watch comes with a silicone-made 20mm quick release wrist band that can be replaced easily. The watches measure 40.6×37.0x11.5mm and weigh 37.6 grams. There is a fiber-reinforced polymer chassis that is 5ATM water-resistant. You can get up to six days of power in smartwatch mode and up to 14 hours in GPS mode.
The smartwatch offers various fitness and healthcare features that include respiration tracking, abnormal heart rate alerts, menstrual cycle tracking, sleep analysis, stress tracking, and hydration tracking. Garmin also provides four breathing activity alerts on the smartwatches – Tranquility, Coherence, and two versions of Relax Focus. You can analyze and control the smartwatch through the Garmin Connect app.
The Garmin Venu Sq series comes with 20 indoor and outdoor preloaded sports apps that include Pilates, yoga, strength training, running, pool swimming, cycling, and golf. You can also analyze no. of steps, intensity minutes, and calories burned. Additionaly, there is a “Body Battery” energy monitoring feature that let you know the energy levels while scheduling your next workout, rest time, or sleep.
The Venu Sq series also comes with the Pulse Oximeter functionality like the Apple Watch Series 6, Fitbit Sense, Huawei Watch GT2, and various other smartwatches. The watch lets you track your blood oxygen saturation levels but it is not medically tested and “is not intended for use in the diagnosis or monitoring of any medical condition”.
The Venu Sq series also has NFC and it also supports Garmin Pay for contactless NFC-based payments. You can download and use new apps, widgets, and watch faces for your Garmin Venu Sq and Venu Sq music edition via the Garmin Connect IQ store that is available for download on both Android and iOS devices.

Garmin Venu Sq is priced at $199.99 ( Rs. 15,000 approx ), while the Garmin Venu Sq Music Edition costs $249.99 ( Rs. 18,500 approx ) in the US. The Venu Sq comes in orchid/metallic orchid, white/light gold, and shadow gray/slate color options.
