Xiaomi launched its latest flagship Xiaomi 14 smartphone in the Chinese market in October last year. Yesterday (February 25) the Chinese brand released the handset to the global market along with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and a few other devices in Barcelona. Other than the Samsung Galaxy S24, it’s currently the only compact flagship phone in the Android space. But it comes with better specifications than Samsung’s flagship and costs more. Specifications of Xiaomi 14
The design of Xiaomi 14 is slightly different from its predecessor Xiaomi 13. Its camera island is large and has no lines surrounding the lenses. The phone has metal frame and glass back panel. The 6.36-inch flat-OLED display on the front offers a 1.5K resolution of 2,670 x 1,200 pixels, a pixel density of 460 ppi and a refresh rate of 1-120 Hz. This 10-bit screen supports DC dimming, Dolby Vision and 3,000 nits local peak brightness level.
In terms of performance, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform, coupled with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. For heat management, the Xiaomi 14 has a VC (Vapor Chamber) liquid cooling system. HyperOS runs on a custom skin based on Android 14.
For photography, the Xiaomi 14 has a Leica-tuned triple camera system on the rear panel. This setup consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit and a 50-megapixel 3.2x floating telephoto sensor. And inside the punch-hole cutout on the front of the phone is a 32-megapixel front camera sensor.
For power backup, the Xiaomi 14 has a 4,610mAh battery, which supports 90W wired, 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging. Also, this Xiaomi handset comes with X-axis linear vibration motor, dual stereo speakers, IR blaster, in-display fingerprint sensor and IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Xiaomi 14 Price and Availability
Xiaomi 14 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage has been priced at 999 Euros (about Rs. 89,590) in the European market. It will be available in Black, White or Jade Green color variants. All models offer a glass back. But the price may vary in different countries. The Xiaomi 14 phone is going to enter the Indian market next month along with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra model.
