Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing recently announced the launch of a new manufacturing line, codenamed Xiaomi Smart Manufacturing Digital Intelligence System 2.0. The new system is installed at the Xiaomi Smart Factory in Beijing Yizhuang. You will be surprised to hear that the first smartphone to be produced through this system is Xiaomi MIX Fold 3. The phone will see several improvements as a result of the production system upgrade.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will be produced on the new manufacturing line
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is the brand’s next-generation foldable handset, which is expected to launch in August. Xiaomi president Lu Weibing said that the company’s new manufacturing system has made great improvements. He said that the Xiaomi Smart Manufacturing Digital Intelligence System 2.0 makes the manufacturing line more intelligent and able to pay attention to detail. He also mentioned that Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable phone will be slimmer and stronger due to this manufacturing line.
The company has already started production of the flagship Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, indicating that the device will be launched in August. The company may announce the launch date anytime within this month. The Mix Fold 3 is said to run on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship processor. The phone will have a quad-camera setup with a telephoto lens with 5X periscope capability. With the periscope telephoto lens, users will be able to capture faraway scenes well, offering a better optical zoom effect than traditional telephoto lenses.
Also, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 phone is expected to come with 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging support. In comparison, its predecessor and the current generation MIX Fold 2 only support 67W wired fast charging. The company promises that the MIX Fold 3 will come with a slim and robust build and more advanced features.
However, it is not yet known for sure whether the device will be launched only in China like its predecessor MIX Fold 2, or will be sold in markets outside of China as well. However, Xiaomi’s head of international business, Lu Weibing, has hinted at the arrival of the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 in the global market. In that case, it will directly compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5.
