Vivo is rumored to soon launch the Vivo Y27 5G smartphone as a new addition to their Y-series. This model is likely to debut as a mid-range 5G handset. Nothing has been formally confirmed about the phone’s launch timeline yet. But the launch of this Vivo handset seems to be imminent, as the Vivo Y27 5G has now been spotted on benchmarking website Geekbench, which has revealed details of its core performance unit. Judging by the listing, the upcoming phone is likely to be powered by a MediaTek 5G processor. Also, let’s find out what else has been revealed about the Vivo Y27 5G in the benchmark database.
Vivo Y27 5G spotted on Geekbench
A report by IT Home has revealed that the Vivo Y27 5G phone with model number V2248 has been listed on the Geekbench benchmarking website. According to the listing, this phone will be powered by a MediaTek processor codenamed K6833v1_64_k419. The two primary cores of this chipset have a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz, while the remaining six secondary cores run at 2.0 GHz. And these details indicate that the upcoming Vivo phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimension 700 processor, which is a fairly old and entry-level 5G processor. The chipset may be rebranded by MediaTek as the Dimension 6020 processor used in the Vivo Y27 5G.
Also, the Geekbench database revealed that the Vivo Y27 5G will offer 8GB of RAM. This Vivo phone is expected to have at least 128 GB of storage. Again, a 6GB RAM variant of the phone with 128GB storage may also be launched alongside the 8GB RAM variant. In terms of benchmark results, the Vivo Y27 5G scored 660 and 1,839 points in Geekbench 6’s single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. It is also said to run Android 13 operating system, which may have an Origin OS 3 custom skin layer on top. If the phone is launched in markets outside of China, it will run on the Android-based Funtouch OS 13 user interface.
Notably, the Vivo Y27 5G was also spotted on the NCC certification site recently, which revealed that the phone will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery. It will also offer 44W fast charging support. The handset will feature a flat frame design. The rear panel of the Vivo Y27 5G will feature dual camera sensors in two large circular cutouts within the rectangular camera module. Its display will offer FullHD+ resolution with a pixel density of 440 ppi. Above the screen will be a waterdrop notch for the front camera. Finally, the bottom edge of the Vivo Y27 5G will include a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, speaker grill and primary microphone.
