Vivo X100 series flagship smartphones were launched in the Chinese market in November last year. Within about six months of the launch, various information about the successor of the series, Vivo X200, started leaking on the internet. And now, courtesy of a tipster, the name of the processor used in the upcoming Vivo X200 series handsets has been revealed. Let's get into this in detail.
Vivo will be in the X200 series
A Chinese tipster has revealed in his latest Weibo (Chinese microblogging site) post that the Vivo X200 series will debut with the MediaTek Dimension 9400 chipset for the first time. Earlier, the MediaTek Dimension 9300 chip was first used in the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro models, and the new Dimension 9300 Plus chipset was first used in the Vivo X100S and Vivo X100S Pro smartphones.
A report last year revealed that Vivo MediaTek will play an important role in the development of the Dimension 9400 processor. So it's only fitting that the upcoming Vivo X100 series will continue the tradition of being the first phone to launch with MediaTek's flagship chipset. These Vivo phones will compete against devices powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. The Dimension 9400 handset will have ARM flagship Cortex-X5 core. Although the chip is yet to appear on the benchmarking platform, it is said to have better IPC performance than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip.
The tipster also noted that the Vivo X200 phone will not include any S branding handset, which means there will be no successor to the X100s and X100s Pro models. The tipster did not shed light on the other specifications of the phone, but a recent report revealed that the Vivo X200 lineup of phones will be released in October. Also, the Oppo Find X8 series is also rumored to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, which could also be launched in the same month. On the other hand, Xiaomi is rumored to launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset-powered Xiaomi 15 series in October.
