In addition to their foldable flagships, Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro, Vivo has also brought a phone called V40 SE 5G. While the X Fold series targets the premium market, the Vivo V40 SE targets the mid-range segment. While the price has not been officially announced, the European listing has revealed that it will be the official smartphone of Euro 2024. Vivo V40 SE 5G specifications and features
The Vivo V40 SE 5G features a large 6.67-inch Ultra Vision AMOLED (AMOLED) display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits of brightness. The screen’s brightness can reach up to 1,800 nits for HDR content, which is expected to provide high-quality visibility in sunlight. The display covers the DCI-P3 color gamut for vivid colors.
Vivo V40 SE 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. Although it is not a premium grade processor, it is capable of handling daily tasks and light gaming well. The phone will get 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. However, the storage can be expanded up to 1 TB via microSD card. The phone runs on FuntouchOS 14 custom skin based on Android 14.
For photography, the Vivo V40 SE 5G features a triple camera setup on the back with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel auxiliary sensor. And for selfies, there is a 16-megapixel front camera.
In terms of power backup, the Vivo V40 SE comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. It can charge up to 50% in about 24.5 minutes. Also, offers features like Smart Charging Engine 2.0 and Overnight Charging Protection for extended battery life and safety.
Notably, the Vivo V40 SE 5G comes in two color options – one is Crystal Black with Composite Plastic Back and the other is Leather Purple with Vegan Leather Back. Both offer an in-display fingerprint sensor and IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. Vivo is expected to reveal the price soon. However, nothing is known for sure whether the phone will come to India or not.
