Why is whatsApp account and IMEI number?
According to the government, the blocked WhatsApp accounts were involved in fraud, cyber crime and illegal activity. Also, mobile devices were being used to create multiple new accounts by manipulating IMEI numbers. As a result, the incidence of phishing, spam and digital fraud is increasing.
What is the IMEI number and its role?
IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) Number carries a unique identity number of each mobile phone. If a device IMEI is blocked, it does not support any network.
