MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is scheduled to be launched in China on October 9. The X200 series, comprising the Vivo X200, Vivo X200 Pro, Vivo X200 Pro Mini and Vivo X200 Pro Satellite Communication Edition, will be the first to come with the D9400 chip. According to reports, the chipset, manufactured using Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's (TSMC) 3-nanometer process, has a Cortex-X925 Ultra-core clocked at 3.63GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores clocked at 2.8GHz and four at 2.1GHz. The working consists of Cortex-A7 series cores. The Cortex-X925 alone will offer a 36 percent performance boost and a 41 percent improvement in artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities over its predecessor.
For graphics, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset is paired with the Mali-G925-Immortalis MC12 GPU, which will feature hardware-level ray tracing technology. The upgrade will result in a 20 percent improvement in ray tracing performance, a 37 percent increase in graphics performance, a 52 percent improvement in handling complex data, and a 34 percent increase in AI and machine learning workloads. And all this comes with a 30 percent lower power cost.
