The popular brand Nothing today (June 13th) announced the official launch date of their much awaited smartphone model Nothing Phone (2). The upcoming handset will be the Carl Pei-led startup’s second smartphone and will debut as the successor to the Nothing Phone (1) model. The company had earlier announced that the rumored smartphone would be launched in July. However, no specific date was mentioned then. But today, the company confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2) will be unveiled globally on July 11.

Nothing today announced the launch date of their upcoming flagship smartphone Nothing Phone (2) on Twitter. It is going to be launched on July 11th. It is also known that a launch event will be organized in London for the said phone. The event will take place from 4pm local time (16:00 BST). Above all, the entire launch event will be streamed live through the company’s official website. Indians can watch the Nothing Phone (2) launch event live from 8:30 pm (8:30 pm IST).

The display of the Nothing Phone (2) smartphone will be 0.15-inch larger than that of the predecessor Nothing Phone (1). That means the successor will come with a 6.7-inch display panel. Again in the teaser image released by the company, a pill-shaped notch cutout is visible at the top of the device’s display. For performance it will use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. Also, Carl Pei itself has confirmed that they will get three years of Android updates and four years of security updates with this upcoming model. It is also known that the Nothing Phone (2) smartphone will be provided with a 4,700 mAh capacity battery.
The company has already confirmed that the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) model will also be available in India. But the news that makes us happy the most is that this phone will be ‘Made in India’. In this case, BYD Electronic based in Tamil Nadu will be responsible for its manufacture in this country, which is basically a Shenzhen-based mobile manufacturing company. Incidentally, the Nothing Phone (1) phone was manufactured by the same manufacturing company.
Note that Carl Pei has said that this latest flagship phone will come with a more durable design. Reportedly, the Nothing Phone (2) will have a lower carbon footprint than the outgoing model. The company claims it has a carbon footprint of 53.45 kg, which is 5 kg less than the Nothing Phone (1). Moreover, the upcoming handset will come with three times more recycled or bio-based materials than the predecessor Nothing Phone (1). This device will be offered with plastic-free packaging. Also, the aluminum frame of the phone is also confirmed to be made of 100% recycled materials.
Nothing Phone (2) Expected Price in India
The price of Nothing Phone (2) is not yet known. But it is expected to be priced around Rs 40,000.
