The display of the cheap phone will not break even if it falls from the hand, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i has arrived

Multinational technology company Corning today launched the Gorilla Glass 7i glass protector. This new product is specially designed for mid-range and affordable smartphones. After all, the company claims that Gorilla Glass 7i is much better at resisting drops and scratches than the older version of Gorilla Glass used in most mid-range devices in the market right now. Even if the phone is dropped from a height of 1 meter, it is said not to be damaged.

Corning Gorilla Glass 7i is designed for budget and mid-range smartphones

The new Gorilla Glass 7i has been announced as an alternative and more advanced version of the older generation protector glass like Gorilla Glass 5 (Launch: 2016) used in mid- and budget-range smartphones. In this regard, Corning said, realizing the need for more modern solutions for affordable devices, they launched Gorilla Glass 7i. That will cater to the needs of budget-conscious phone makers as well as offer high-quality displays with mid-range devices.

During the press release, the company showed a few examples of how durable the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i is. It is claimed that the durability of the new glass has been significantly improved. Lab tests have proven that Corning Gorilla Glass 7I is undamaged even after being dropped from a height of up to 1 meter on rough surfaces like asphalt. Whereas other aluminosilicate glasses on the market have failed the drop test due to breakage after being dropped from a height of only 0.5 m or less on such a surface.

So Corning Gorilla Glass 7i passed the drop test with 100/100. And it is twice as scratch resistant as other lithium aluminosilicate cover glass on the market, according to the 170-year-old American-based company.

As a result, Corning's dominance now gives budget and mid-range handset makers another good option in terms of offering more durable displays with their upcoming mobile phones.
