Sharp Aquos R9 smartphone has entered the market today. It is the successor of R8 from last year. The smartphone has been listed on the company's official website in Japan. The new Sharp Aquos R9 features a display with a higher refresh rate, a Leica camera and a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor. Sharp Aquos R9: Specifications and Features
The Sharp Aquos R8 phone features a 6.5-inch Pro-IGZO OLE display panel, which offers FullHD+ resolution, high 240Hz LTPO variable refresh rate and 1,500 nits peak brightness. The device supports Dolby Vision. As the Acos series phone, it is said to have the largest box of stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos technology.
The Sharp Aquos R9 features a boxy design with flat frames. For security, there is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. Its rear panel has a circular shaped camera island. Also, the smartphone is MIL-STD 810G military-grade certified and comes with IPX5, IPX8 and IP6X dust and water-resistant chassis.
For photography, the Sharp Aquos R9 phone has a Leica-branded dual camera setup, with a 50.3-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and f/2.2 aperture and 122-degree field of view with optical image stabilization (OIS) enabled. Comprised of a 50.3-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with -of-view. And there is a 50.3 megapixel selfie camera on the front of the phone.
In terms of performance, the Sharp Aquos R9 phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor, coupled with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of storage. It also has a heat dissipation system. In terms of power backup, the Sharp Aquos R9 comes with a powerful 5,000 mAh battery unit. It runs on Android 13 operating system. Connectivity options on the Sharp Aquos R9 include WiFi, Near Field Communication (NFC) and Bluetooth 5.4. Finally, this Sharp phone will be available in White and Green colors.
