A recent report confirmed that Samsung has already started working on the next-generation Samsung Galaxy S25 series. And now, the top-end Galaxy S25 Ultra model of the series has been spotted in the IMEI database.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has appeared in the IMEI database
As reported by Android Headlines, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has appeared in the IMEI database with the model number “SM-S938U”. Its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone was listed with the model number “SM-S928U. The letter “U” at the end of the model code refers to the US model, but the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available internationally, continuing the company's strategy of global market expansion for its flagship series.
Although, the detailed specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra phone are currently unavailable, some guesses can be made based on the previous models. Like the previous versions, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will likely have region-specific chipsets. The US version may be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, while other regions may get the version with the Exynos 2500 chipset.
Noted tipster Ice Universe claims that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will come with a significant camera upgrade. The Galaxy S25 Ultra model is said to have a quad-camera setup with a 200-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel super-telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.
Also, nothing is officially known about the launch date and price of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra phone. However, this year's Galaxy Unpacked event was held on January 17, so next year's event is likely to be held on the same date. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to gain significant traction and set new standards in the smartphone industry.
