In January last year, Samsung took the wraps off its latest S-series FE model, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. This relatively affordable flagship-grade handset was launched in two versions based on region with Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2100 processor and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset. The South Korean company is gearing up to launch the Snapdragon 888 chipset version of the Galaxy S21 FE in the Indian market, more than a year and a half after it was available in the global market. The Exynos 2100 processor variant is already available in the country. Now, ahead of the official launch, a new report has revealed several important details regarding the new chipset version of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE color options and price revealed
TheTechOutlook has shared images of some marketing materials for the Snapdragon 888 model of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G. These materials showcased the upcoming mid-ranger in detail as well as revealed its selling price information. The images also show all the launch-day color variants of the Galaxy S21 FE 5G with color options like lavender, navy blue, graphite and olive green.
According to leaked documents, Samsung will sell the new version of the Galaxy S21 FE 5G in India for Rs 49,999. But this price may seem unbelievable at the moment, as there are already several smartphones available in the market under Rs 50,000 that are newer and more powerful than the Snapdragon 888. The company is likely to market the phone in the Rs 30,000-40,000 range, but this price range is also a bit high as it is an early 2021 smartphone with the same hardware as the global Galaxy S21 FE.
Specifications of Samsung Galaxy S21 FE
Since the device has been available for 18 months already, its hardware specifications are not unknown. It has a 6.4-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. For photography, the handset’s back panel houses a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 12-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. And a 32 megapixel selfie camera is seen in front of the phone.
Other features of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE include a Snapdragon 888 chipset with 5G connectivity, an under-display fingerprint scanner and a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging support. The new Galaxy S21 FE model is likely to run One UI 5 software version based on Android 13. The handset may also be updated to One UI 5.1 soon.
Note that Samsung is already selling the Galaxy S21 FE in India, but it is powered by the Exynos 2100 processor, while the global version was launched with the Snapdragon 888. So it’s a bit strange that Samsung has decided to bring it to India now, especially when powerful smartphones like the midrange Nothing Phone (2) are set to set foot in the country in the coming weeks.
