Redmi recently launched the Redmi Note 12R under their popular Note series in China. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, which supports 5G networks. Although the global launch of Redmi Note 12R has not been officially announced, a source claims that the device may be launched under different names in the global market. Tipster Kasper Skrejpek claims that Redmi will launch their new Note 12R in the global market as Redmi Note 12 5G. And the phone may be rebranded as Poco M6 Pro 5G in India. It should be noted here that the Poco M5 Pro is yet to arrive in the country. As a result, excluding this model, Poco is planning to launch the next generation M6 Pro 5G. The Redmi Note 12R comes with a 6.79-inch LCD panel, which offers FullHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. A touch sampling rate of 240 Hz ensures smooth touch response, while DC dimming enhances display quality. The phone is available in up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 in-built storage options.
In terms of photography, the dual-camera setup on the rear panel of the Redmi Note 12R includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. And for selfies and video calling, there is a 5 megapixel front camera in front of the phone.
For power backup, the Redmi Note 12R comes with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging. Besides, the phone runs MIUI 14 (MIUI 14) version of Xiaomi’s own custom skin based on Android 13 operating system.
