Iconic brand Xiaomi is celebrating its 9th anniversary in India. And on that occasion, the company has launched a new type of marketing campaign to promote their number-series smartphones. Incidentally, in 2014, Redmi first launched a phone under their number series in the Indian market. And so far the company has marketed a total of 11 series of smartphones in the country. In this regard, a latest social media post by the company indicates that another new number series smartphone may be launched in India very soon. The upcoming model could be the Redmi 12. Which arrived in Thailand last month. And for a few days there are whispers that it will be launched in India as well.
Xiaomi however did not mention anything about Redmi 12 in their social media posts. As a result, the upcoming model may be the Redmi 12, while some other number series handsets may also see the face of launch. But one thing is for sure, whatever the phone is in mind, the company has already started gearing up for the launch of the upcoming handset in earnest.
Redmi 12 Smartphone Specifications (Probable)
If the Redmi 12 smartphone is indeed launched in the Indian market, it is good to know a little about its possible features. The phone may offer almost similar features in countries like Thailand. In that case, the Redmi 12 smartphone will have a 90 Hz refresh rate Full HD Plus LCD display panel, which will have a punch-hole style design. It may use MediaTek Helio G88 processor.
In the camera department, the phone might come with a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. Apart from that, the Indian variant of the Redmi 12 phone may be offered with a 5,000 mAh capacity battery and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Redmi 12 Smartphone Price (Probable)
The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the Redmi 12 smartphone was priced at 5,299 baht in Thailand. As a result, it is likely to be launched in India at a retail price of around Rs 12,500. However, the Redmi series smartphones are generally available in the country in the low-budget range or with a starting price of less than Rs 10,000. So unless the company takes an exceptional decision, the upcoming Redmi 12 for India should also be priced below Rs 10,000.
