Popular smartphone brand Realme and renowned display manufacturer BOE have teamed up to bring a new type of display to the market, which will be used for the first time in the Realme GT Neo 6 SE. That new display is said to be able to offer a remarkable peak brightness level of 6,000 nits. The panel offers improvements in multiple areas including brightness as well as eye protection, touch responsiveness. Let’s see what the new display has to offer.
Realme and BOE revealed a display with 6,000 nits brightness
One of the highlights of the new display, developed in collaboration with Realme and BOE, is its unprecedented local peak brightness of 6,000 nits, making it the world’s brightest panel. The display also offers a global maximum brightness of 1,600 nits and a manual maximum brightness of 1,000 nits. Manual adjustment is particularly relevant for users, as it allows the screen brightness to be manually adjusted to the highest level using the phone’s brightness slider. The new display also supports the “Game Super HDR” feature, which provides a superior gaming experience with expanded dynamic range for attractive light and shadow effects.
While excelling in display capabilities, Realme has not compromised on eye protection. The new display supports 3+1 pulse low-frequency flicker, 2,160 Hz high-frequency PWM (PWM) dimming, and hardware-level low blue light capability. In addition, this display also has features like adaptive display, sleep mode and paper eye protection to reduce eye strain.
Notably, this new display uses industry-leading 8T Low Temperature Poly Crystalline Oxide (LTPO) technology, which provides smooth refresh rate transitions, lower power consumption and faster display response times. Realme says that the refresh rate of this panel will range from 0.5 to 120 Hz.
In addition, the new display also has some AI features. Realme calls it a “Greenfield AI” eye protection function, which detects user fatigue and adjusts the display accordingly for system interfaces, media content and e-books. Also, there is the AI Game Eye Protection feature, which will optimize the display during games for eye comfort.
Notably, the new display offers a 2,500 Hz instant touch sampling rate for a responsive gaming experience, along with a “Wonderful Touch” function, which customizes the touch experience for improved game control. This new generation display technology will debut with the Realme GT Neo 6 SE, which is slated to launch next month i.e. April.
