Poco, the popular sub-brand of Xiaomi, has confirmed the launch of its new M-series smartphone. The company is going to bring Poco M6 Pro 5G as its new budget smartphone in India. The brand has been sharing teasers of a new upcoming budget 5G handset for a while now. Now they have revealed the launch date of it. The Poco M6 Pro 5G India launch event will be held this week itself. It is confirmed to be available for purchase in India via Flipkart. Also, the M6 Pro 5G has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, which has revealed hardware information. Poco M6 Pro 5G will launch in India on August 5
Poco M6 Pro 5G may be priced under Rs 15,000 in India. It has been announced that it will be launched on August 5, Saturday. Ahead of the launch, the company revealed the rear panel design of this M-series phone. The handset will feature a flat frame design with curved corners. In the official image, the green variant of the M6 Pro 5G has been spotted. A black island at the top of the rear panel houses the camera sensor and LED flash.
The image also reveals that the power and volume buttons of the phone are present on the right edge and the SIM tray on the left. This upcoming budget 5G phone from Poco will have a dual-camera setup. However, it has not been revealed what kind of sensor will be in the camera.
Ahead of its launch in India, the Poco M6 Pro 5G has also been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking website. Which revealed that the phone carries the model number 23076PC4BI and is powered by a Qualcomm processor with a peak clock speed of 2.2 GHz. This chipset will be paired with Adreno 613 GPU. These details indicate that the phone will likely use the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, which is also present in the new Redmi 12 5G phone.
Also, the Geekbench listing of the Poco M6 Pro 5G confirmed that it will launch with 6GB of RAM and run on Android 13 operating system, which is expected to have a layer of MIUI 14 on top. In terms of performance, the M6 Pro scored 922 points and 2,110 points in Geekbench 6’s single-core and multi-core tests.
According to the leaked information, Poco M6 Pro 5G will be launched as a rebadged version of Redmi 12 5G. In that case, the device may feature a 6.79-inch FullHD+ IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. A punch-hole cutout can be seen at the top center of the screen for the front camera. The M6 Pro 5G will get up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of in-built storage.
For photography, the Poco M6 Pro 5G’s dual rear camera setup will feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. And a 5 megapixel front camera will be located in front of the phone. For power backup, the Pokoje will have a 5,000 mAh battery, which will support 18W fast charging. Also, the M6 Pro 5G will include a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual SIM and USB Type-C port.
